Track Workout

Track has always been one of my most favorite sports. And it’s one of the main reasons I became passionate about working out and training efficiently and effectively. I occasionally like to get back onto the track for workouts and I also supply running workouts to teams. Here’s a sample track training week.

Track Workout

 

Warm – Up
Dynamic Warm-up
•1200 meter Warm-up Run – brisk pace
•High Knees, Butt Kicks, Arm Swings, Leg Swings, Deep Lunges, Rotating Lunges, Power Skips, A-Skips, B-Skips, Walking Toe Touches



For Strength:

•Monday: 4 to 6 400



For Speed:

•Wednesday: 2 150s, 2 100s, 2 60s



Race Simulator

•Friday: 400 broken into 150,150,100 (20/30secs rest in btwn) - 2 to 3 Reps



Cool Down

•1200 meter run
•Standing Stretch Series
